CNN regains Russia licence

CNN international has received a new broadcast licence in Russia after the news channel was halted from broadcasting at the end of 2014 following changes to the country’s legislation.
Head of Roskomnadzor, the Russian media watchdog, Aleksandr Zharov commented: “I welcome the fact that CNN clearly follow the agreements reached in the negotiations, and I believe that it [the channel] will also be accurate and flawless in its content policy.”
CNN ceased broadcasting in Russia on December 31st 2014, after changes to Russian legislation regulating the operation of mass media.
