MobiTV expands data centre for movie delivery

MobiTV, a specialist in enabling delivery of live and on-demand TV Everywhere has extended its data centre to manage all types of motion picture content for multi-screen delivery of high-quality services as part of its international expansion. Utilising the latest in secure tiered storage and a 100 per cent virtualised processing environment, MobiTV’s new system is capable of ingesting and processing petabytes of data.
The Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) has surveyed MobiTV’s methods and technologies for securely ingesting, encoding and storing movies. The MPAA assessment opens the door for MobiTV to ingest media libraries from major movie studios, storing movie content in high-resolution formats for multi-screen delivery.
