ULA sets Amazon Leo launch date

The United Launch Alliance’s (ULA) next mission – Leo 4 – will launch a batch of Amazon Leo satellites into their designated transfer orbits.

The giant Atlas V rocket will carry 27 satellites, and the launch is set for December 15th with its launch window opening in the early morning hours at 3.52am (Eastern Time) subject to the usual weather conditions and last-minute technical delays at Space Launch Complex-41 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, Florida.

It will be the fourth Atlas V launch for Amazon and will be a mega-constellation of more than 3,000 satellites.

Amazon is paertnering with ULA to deploy a majority of its advanced satellite constellation using eight Atlas V and 38 Vulcan rockets in accordance with the world’s largest commercial launch agreement.
