Electric Entertainment closes The Ark, The Librarians deals

Electric Entertainment, the Los Angeles-based production and distribution company, has closed deals in two additional territories, one with Palatin Media and the other with Nova Broadcasting Group. The deals include broadcast and digital rights to seasons 1 and 2 of Electric’s original hit series, The Ark. The announcement was made today by Sonia Mehandjiyska, Head of International Distribution for Electric Entertainment.

Palatin Media has acquired SVoD & Fast rights in German Speaking Europe and Nova Broadcasting Group has acquired free TV rights for Bulgaria. Both deals consist of 12 episodes from each season.
The critically acclaimed sci-fi series had its season 2 premiere on SYFY in July 2024. The Ark takes place one hundred years in the future where planetary colonization missions have begun as a necessity to help secure the survival of the human race. The first of these missions on a spacecraft known as Ark One encounters a catastrophic event causing massive destruction and loss of life. With more than a year left to go before reaching their target planet, a lack of life-sustaining supplies and loss of leadership, the remaining crew must become the best versions of themselves to stay on course and survive.
Sonia Mehandjiyska, Head of International Distribution for Electric Entertainment, and Bernd Schlötterer, Managing Director negotiated the deal for Palatin Media. Sonia Mehandjiyska negotiated the deal with Nelly Stoynova at Nova Broadcasting Group for NOVA.
Electric Entertainment has also closed multi-territory deals with NBCUniversal International Networks & Direct-to-Consumer (NBCUIN & DTC), Bell Media, and Nova Broadcasting Group. The deals include both pay and free TV rights to Electric’s newest original production, The Librarians: The Next Chapter. The announcement was made today by Sonia Mehandjiyska, Head of International Distribution for Electric Entertainment.
NBCUIN & DTC has acquired pay-TV rights for France, Iberia, Poland, Albania, Bosnia Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Slovenia and Africa; Bell Media has acquired rights for Canada and Nova Broadcasting Group has acquired free TV rights for Bulgaria.

Each of the deals include 12, hour long episodes for Electric’s newest original production, The Librarians: The Next Chapter. a spinoff series of the original TV series The Librarians. The new series centres on a librarian from the past who time-traveled to the present and now finds himself stuck here. When he returns to his castle, which is now a museum, he inadvertently releases magic across the continent. He is given a new team to help him clean up the mess he made, forming a new team of Librarians.
Nolan Pielak, SVP, International Distribution & Co-Production at Electric Entertainment, and Jamie Cochrane, Sr. Manager, Acquisitions negotiated the Bell Media deal. Sonia Mehandjiyska and Nelly Stoynova at Nova Broadcasting Group negotiated the NOVA deal.
