The pay-TV service of Italian commercial broadcaster Mediaset should end the year 2011 with a 20 per cent growth in revenues over the previous year.
The prediction has come from Mediaset vice president, Piersilvio Berlusconi, during a press conference to present the autumn programme schedules to advertisers. According to Berlusconi, the number of subscriptions reached 2 million, while active cards total 4.4 million.
He also pointed out that Mediaset is countering the dominance of Sky Italia on the Italian market, claiming that without Mediaset Premium, the DTH operator would have reached nine million customers in Italy.
Mediaset also announced the autumn launch of its all-news channel TGCom24, on DTT, satellite, the Internet, on tablets and mobile phones.
