AT&T reports 3.2mn IPTV subs

AT&T added 218,000 subscribers to its U-verse TV IPTV service in the first quarter of 2011 to reach a total of 3.2 million, with more than three-quarters of those taking a triple or quad-play package.
AT&T reported that its U-verse deployment now reaches 28 million living units, with a 26.1 per cent year-on-year growth in IP revenues from residential customers in the first quarter of 2011.
Total video subscribers served, which included not its U-verse TV offering and bundled satellite subscribers, reached 5.1 million at the end of March, representing 20.6 per cent of households served.
Total revenues across all operations reached $31.2 billion for the period, up 2.3 per cent year-on-year, while net profits rose from $2.5 billion to $3.4billion.
