January 31, 2011
CNBC, the business and financial news channel, has commenced broadcasting on Viasat in Scandinavia and the Baltic states, in a move that further extends the channel’s footprint in EMEA.
The agreement with Viasat Broadcasting, the leading satellite TV operator in Scandinavia and the Baltics, will see CNBC available in seven new territories: Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden, reaching approximately one million Viasat households. As part of the agreement, Viasat will also have the rights to re-distribute CNBC to local IPTV and cable operators as part of their package to further expand the news channel’s reach.
