June 17, 2026

Oscar-winning studio Lion Forge Entertainment has closed new international distribution deals for both the award-winning breakout superhero animated series Iyanu and popular fantasy series The Wingfeather Saga.

New distribution deals for Iyanu include CBC for Canada, where the series will premiere on CBC Gem in August; MBC for the Middle East, where it will be made available in October; and Duo Media Networks’ Kidzone Max for the Pan Baltics region in Europe, where it has already begun airing.

Lion Forge Entertainment has secured distribution deals for The Wingfeather Saga in France with Canal Plus, which has licensed season 3 and renewed seasons 1 and 2, as well as in the Middle East and North Africa with eJunior.

Iyanu is currently airing its second season on Cartoon Network and HBO Max in the US after the debut season captivated young audiences to become a cultural standout with strong rating and engagement across all platforms.

Produced by Lion Forge Entertainment, the show is based on the graphic novel series Iyanu: Child of Wonder by Roye Okupe for YouNeek Studios and Dark Horse Comics. Iyanu follows a teenage orphan who discovers her divine powers and destiny to save the ancient kingdom of Yorubaland. The series is celebrated for its rich world-building, stunning animation, and authentic portrayal of African culture and mythology.

The show’s executive producers are David Steward II, Stephanie Sperber, Kirsten Newlands and Matt Heath from Lion Forge Entertainment; Erica Dupuis of Impact X Capital; Ryan Haidarian of Forefront Media Group; and Doug Schwalbe of Superprod. Okupe also serves as series creator, executive producer, and showrunner.

The Wingfeather Saga is an action-adventure fantasy series from Angel Studios and Shining Isle Productions, based on the beloved book series by Andrew Peterson. This captivating three-season series (19 x 22 minutes) is designed for children ages 6-11 co-viewing, and follows the thrilling journey of the Igiby family as they uncover secrets of their family history, flee the evil Fangs of Dang and seek their place in the world. Using their special gifts, along with the love of their noble mother and ex-pirate grandfather, they survive venomous fangs, sea dragons, flabbits, and toothy cows along the way.

Known for its blend of humor, heart, and adventure, the series has been recognized for its rich fantasy world, memorable characters, and themes of family, faith, courage, and love. All three seasons of The Wingfeather Saga stream exclusively in the US on the Angel platform.
