2Connect enters Hungarian market

October 1, 2025

2Connect Telecommunications Infrastructure and Network Services has entered the Hungarian market as a new member of 4iG Group and one of the largest companies in the country providing wholesale exclusively, fixed-line telecommunications and info-communications infrastructure services.

2Connect was founded through the merger of Invitech, Antenna Hungária, DIGI, and One Magyarország network infrastructure companies.

Establishing 2Connect as separate entity also marked the completion of 4iG Group transformation programme first announced in 2023. The programme is based on structural separation. 4iG Group transformed its telecommunication assets divided into retail, business and wholesale infrastructure companies and integrated these operations in line with their separated functions. Through this process One Magyarország Zrt. was founded to cover retail activities, and the infrastructure company, 2Connect, today [October 1st]t.

As a result, 4iG Group has created a nationwide network-infrastructure company. It aims to ensure long-term, stable and competitive operation of the Group telecommunications companies, and provides a scalable wholesale technology foundation for retail providers, contributing to the development of the Hungarian and regional digital economy.

2Connect delivers network and data centre solutions to wholesale telco partners and retail electronic-communications providers. The company operates nearly 42,000 kilometres of optical network, 15,000 microwave endpoints and almost 6,500 square metres of data centre capacity. Its backbone and international services connect economic players across Eastern and Western Europe.

The company’s portfolio covers wholesale data transmission, leased line and IPVPN solutions, TV signal transit, dark fibre and WDM-based networks, as well as infrastructure leasing and data centre services (co-location and power-based hosting). 2Connect ensures high availability across 12 geographically separate data centres, including a TIER III-certified facility. The nationwide network is directly linked to international data traffic routes via 330 nodes and 11 border-crossing points, and today serves more than 9,000 governmental endpoints, over 100 cable TV companies and the domestic mobile operator market.

“Through carefully planned development in recent years, 4iG Group has become one of the leading info-communications technology groups in Hungary and the region. 2Connect is the tangible result of this transformation: a new pillar that brings stability, development and growth potential to the Group’s operations. In the economy of the future, data and connectivity will be as essential as water or air – and from now on, 2Connect will provide that essential resource,” commented Péter Fekete, CEO of 4iG Group.

“With the creation of 2Connect, the fixed-line networks and business services of Invitech, Antenna Hungária, and DIGI – together with the network capacities of One Magyarország – are now united in a single company under integrated management. This allows us to provide a stable, reliable and flexible infrastructure on which our partners can build for the long term. As a neutral, wholesale-only service provider, our goal is to become a key player not only in Hungary but also in international markets, with services ready for the challenges of the future,” added Gyöngyvér Papp-Gerlei, CEO of 2Connect.

2Connect’s priorities include the continuous development of Hungary’s optical backbone and access networks, supporting the entire market with scalable solutions both within and outside 4iG Group, and building the capability to provide full technical support for retail services.
