yes Studios to launch new comedy series at MIPCOM
September 30, 2025
Following the recent launches of several premium drama series, including action thriller Embassy Down and Sci-Fi YA title Wonder, yes Studios will arrive at MIPCOM this year with three additions to its growing catalogue of comedy series.
Little F-cker and Canteen Commando are brand new titles for the market, while romantic comedy Bloody Murray returns with a second season. Each is available as a completed series or scripted format.
Little F-cker (7 x 30) is an edgy, coming-of-age comedy that features universally relatable themes of family dysfunction, generational feuds, and blurred morality. It follows Shay, a 12-year-old misfit who’s bullied at school, mocked at home and ignored by the adults in his life – until he catches his dad, Yaki, cheating. In a stroke of petty genius, Shay blackmails him, flipping the family hierarchy and recasting Yaki as the household villain. However, Yaki – a vain wannabe author – doesn’t take blackmail lying down. As he scrambles to protect his secret, Shay basks in his newfound power, triggering a hilariously vicious father-son feud. Drawing inspiration from the suburban black comedies of Todd Solondz, the self-centered characters of Danny McBride, and the chaotic storytelling of the Coen Brothers, this series delves into the consequences of a family unraveling when all the rules are broken.
Little F-cker was created by Ariel Waysman and Niv Majar and produced by Tedy TV for yes TV.
Canteen Commando (8 x 35) is a sharp, hilariously awkward comedy inspired by creator Eran Zarahovich’s unforgettable – and sometimes repressed – memories of military service.
Aviram, a self-important, rule-dodging sergeant, leads a cushy life at a military Special Ops base. His world is thrown into utter chaos when his son, 19-year-old Rani, unwittingly becomes the new Canteen Commando. Rani’s a Walmart version of a young Woody Allen, insecure and with a fear of alpha males, who now finds himself serving under a detestable sergeant (his estranged father), facing surprise drills, misguided mentorship and the most passive-aggressive toastie orders known to man! While trying to survive, Rani looks to win the heart of Naama – a sharp-tongued counter-terrorism clerk with no patience for macho nonsense. In his quest to prove himself to Naama – and maybe, just maybe, to his father – Rani might just discover that courage comes in many forms…even if it’s buried under layers of pretzels and PTSD.
Canteen Commando is created by Eran Zarahovich, Moish Goldberg and Ilan Shefler and produced by yes TV and Yoav Gross Productions for yes TV.
Bloody Murray Season 2 (9 x 25) continues the story of best friends and roommates Murray and Dana and their daily struggles as single, thirty-something women. Three years on from Season 1, Murray releases her first film. It turns out to be a total hit, but she finds herself held back with ‘second album syndrome’. Dana is thriving in her senior role at the hospital, but it’s not all sunshine and roses… No matter how successful you are, if you are still dreaming of becoming a mother at 38 years old, that dream turns into anxiety. With the biological clock ticking, Murray and Dana decide to take fate into their own hands and embark on a brave journey together. But, as usual for these two, life gets in the way. Just when Murray and Dana have mapped out their plans, everything goes wrong…
Bloody Murray is created and written by Stav Idisis and produced by yes TV and Kastina Communications for yes TV. Season 1 (9 x 25) of this romantic comedy won Best Comedy at Series Mania in 2022 and has recently been adapted by Cavea+ in Georgia.
These new titles join a growing yes Studios catalogue of comedy and dramedy series that include My Darling Sisters, On the Spectrum, Significant Other (adapted for ITV in the UK) and Johnny and the Knights of the Galilee (adapted in France as Escort Boys for two seasons on Prime Video, and currently under option for the UK and US).
Sharon Levi, managing director at yes Studios, commented: “In recent years, we have become most well-known in the international market for our gripping, edgy action dramas and thrillers, such as Fauda, Magpie and Your Honor. However, our scripted catalogue has always been diverse, with programmes catering to a wide range of audiences. I am excited to arrive in Cannes with three hilarious and warm-hearted new series leading our slate and look forward to sharing more details with international buyers.”
