Mediapro, the Spanish TV group, has acquired the International TV rights to the Chinese Super League until 2023.
The agreement takes place following the current owner of the rights, China Sports Media, breaking the contract following financial difficulties.
The news also comes at a time when Mediapro is set to ask for a €300 million financial rescue from the Spanish Government.
Mediapro is controlled with 53 per cent stake by the Chinese fund Orient Hontai Capital.
