SpaceX readies 13th Starlink batch
September 16, 2020
By Chris Forrester
The weather could prove a problem but SpaceX is currently planning a launch on September 17th of its latest batch of 60 Starlink broadband satellites.
Launch time is at 2.17pm (EDT) from Florida’s Kennedy Space Centre.
But the US Air Force has issued a cautionary note saying that the remnants of Hurricane Sally is still affecting the area and significant cloud and moisture will affect norther Florida.
If the rocket doesn’t launch on Thursday then the prospects for Friday are worse, with more storms expected.
The SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket will carry 60 satellites and take the overall total of Starlink craft in orbit to well over 700.
SpaceX is also planning an additional Starlink launch for later in September.
