Sony India finalises Ten Sports purchase

Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI) has completed its acquisition of the Ten Sports channels owned by Zee Entertainment Networks (ZEEL).
Sony paid $366.3 million overall and the latest payment obligation concludes the transaction. The final amount paid is also $18.7 million less than first announced. The difference is because a building in Dubai, leased by Taj TV, is no longer part of the deal.
SPNI had already added Ten 1, Ten 2, Ten 3, Ten 1 HD and Ten Golf HD to its line-up, and in July, SPNI re-branded these channels as Sony Ten 1, Sony Ten 2, Sony Ten 3, Sony Ten 1 HD and Sony Ten Golf HD. Sony has also launched HD versions of some of these channels.
