Digital TV peace in Kenya

Kenya’s Consumer Federation (COFEK) and two of the nation’s digital TV operators have buried the hatchet over an ongoing legal dispute before the Kenyan High Court.
The parties, including GOtv and the Star Times Group, were arguing that Kenya’s free-to-air public broadcast channels should stay available on the digital TV broadcast platforms.
The FTA channels will now be available to viewers. The channels were switched off on April, and caused considerable local consternation when the FIFA World Cup signals were denied from the digital platforms.
