Thaicom moves into profit

Satellite operator Thaicom has moved from losses into profit. Its latest results report a net profit for the full year (to December 31st) of 174 million Thai Bhat (THB) compared with a loss in 2011 of THB 490 million the previous year. However, disposals of its Cambodian mobile operation affected the 2011 numbers.
Satellite and related services generated revenues of THB 6.28 billion, up 10.5 per cent, while telephone services revenues rose 22.3 per cent to THB 702 million, and internet access and media revenues were THB 285 million, down 22.1 per cent.
