BBC iPlayer app imminent
January 28, 2011
An iPlayer application for iOS devices, which was announced over a year ago, and eventually green-lighted by the BBC Trust six months ago, appears to be imminent. The app will be available by the end of February according to various reports.
It’s currently possible to use the iPlayer service via a web interface on iOS devices but the native application is expected to offer a number of improvements.
Meanwhile the BBC has yet to announce any plans to bring the iPlayer service to Android smartphones.
