PLDT launches IPTV service

Philippine telco PLDT has announced the launch of a new IPTV service dubbed Watchpad. Existing subscribers to the company's myDSL broadband service will receive the TV over DSL offering for free.
Initial channels available include National Geographic, Cartoon Network, Pinoy Box Office, CNN, Animax Mobile, CNBC and GMA 7. PLDT customer sales and marketing group head Eric Alberto said there would be further, bigger broadband service announcements to come in the future.
