Smartclip for UK
April 22, 2009
Smartclip, the German interactive video network backed by Endemol founder Joop van den Ende, has launched in the UK as it aims to take a chunk of the online video ad market. The network is designed to allow TV and online planners to buy pre-roll campaigns around professional content through more simple processes.
It's currently approaching both content owners directly and distribution partners such as MySpace to join existing partners including Sony Music and Lastfm. Sam Kayum, former MD of Lycos UK, has been appointed UK MD with ex-Jetix European sales director Jean-Paul Wevers as publishing director and ex-MediaCom associate director Adam Boast as sales director.
