Freesat’s Scott joins DC Thomson

Emma Scott, currently Managing Director of digital TV service Freesat, is to join media group DC Thomson in January 2015 as an Advisor to The Board of Directors. She will be working on a range of strategic initiatives across the Group.
Scott set up Freesat – jointly owned by ITV and the BBC – in 2007 and has driven the creative and technology business from start up to over 4 million customers through retail and digital channels.
She previously worked for the BBC and for its Director General Greg Dyke. While at the Corporation, Scott was directly responsible for developing and leading a range of strategic initiatives including the launch of Freeview, establishing a new TV region and various innovative digital media products, along with strategic management of the BBC Executive Board.
