One Hungary unifies Linux and Android STB experiences with 3SS 3Ready

January 28, 2026

3 Screen Solutions (3SS), a provider of software solutions enabling content on every screen from in-home to in-vehicle consoles, today announced the successful launch of a next-generation Android TV operator solution in collaboration with Sagemcom, enabling One Hungary, a member of 4iG Group, to bring its new OneTV entertainment service to market.

Developed and deployed on two new Android TV set-top boxes, the solution features a bespoke next-generation user experience engineered by 3SS and built on its 3Ready product platform. The deployment enables One Hungary to offer viewers enhanced navigation, personalised recommendations and streamlined content discovery.

Alongside an enhanced user experience, One Hungary’s customers can enjoy all the benefits of two new Android STB models manufactured by Sagemcom: the SoundBox and the MiniBox Pro.

Two new OneTV Android STBs

The SoundBox is from a new product line called Video Soundbox (VSB), with a built-in sound system. As the world’s first Dolby Atmos certified 4K set-top box, with Audio by Bang & Olufsen, the VSB delivers a true cinematic experience and a powerful authentic sound optimized for movies, series and OTT platforms. The device also works as a smart speaker even when the TV set is off.

In parallel, the new OneTV Android TV (14) MiniBox Pro offers a flexible and economical option for OTT viewing, featuring Google Cast, Wi-Fi 6 and far-field microphones. Compact and powerful, it provides seamless access to leading apps and content.

Among the key benefits of the two new devices are significantly enhanced options and user-friendliness of accessibility services. For instance, the devices enable special features for customers with vision impairment, including fast access to a screen reader, talkback capability, and easy text scaling.

The successful and swift STB implementations were achieved through close collaboration among OneTV, 3SS, Sagemcom, and NAGRAVISION. Development for the project commenced in January 2025, with services going live at the end of October.

Next-gen user experience powered by 3SS 3Ready.

The next-gen OneTV UX has a new easy-to-use design, intuitive navigation, personalization and simplified content discovery thanks to 3Ready.

Sagemcom and 3SS oversaw integration and certification of premium third-party providers, including Netflix. RTL+ Premium and HBO Max are also deep-linked for enhanced convenience, enabling users to find all relevant content in one centralized location. The new OneTV UI/UX is user-centric and will help One Hungary to increase customer engagement.

“We congratulate One Hungary for the launch of OneTV, now delivering a state-of-the-art user experience on the new Sagemcom Android STBs,” said Olivier Taravel, Senior Executive VP – Audio Video Solutions Business Unit at Sagemcom. “We are extremely honored that One Hungary continues to rely on Sagemcom to deliver its exciting next-generation service, elevating entertainment UX for Hungarian consumers.”

One Hungary has already set a high bar in terms of innovation and commitment to providing quality and choice to customers,” commented Kai-Christian Borchers, Managing Director of 3SS. “We’re extremely proud that the capability and flexibility of 3Ready are helping One Hungary to deliver engaging, personalized, and seamless next-gen services. The smooth and successful launch of two new devices for OneTV customers evidences the power of collaboration; now more OneTV subscribers, present and future, will be able to enjoy first-class entertainment experiences underpinned by state-of-the-art technology.”

Last year, following the rebrand to OneTV, over 400,000 TV service subscribers with Linux STBs were seamlessly migrated to the new OneTV platform, featuring new, more modern UI/UX. Customer research that followed was immediately encouraging, with viewers of the upgraded service expressing their satisfaction with the new UX.

“Recent NPS results highlight that OneTV is moving in the right direction, with new customers in particular giving very positive feedback. We are proud that this success goes hand in hand with our commitment to sustainability, as OneTV was deployed to over 400,000 customers without the need for hardware replacement,” commented Tamás Bányai, CEO of One Hungary.

Ongoing collaborations

Today’s service launches support One Hungary’s overarching multiscreen and device strategy. The launch of the two Android STBs is the latest rollout in the ongoing collaboration between 3SS, One Hungary and Sagemcom.

Among the aims of One Hungary’s ambitious vision for digital transformation is to deliver next-gen services to a wide range of devices, including STBs and other popular consumer devices for OTT viewing. Part of this plan was to try to rejuvenate the user experience on legacy Linux set-top boxes already in subscribers’ homes.

Earlier, in September 2023, it was announced that 4iG, through its then subsidiaries Vodafone Hungary, DIGI Hungary and Antenna Hungaria, appointed NAGRAVISION to lead migration to a next-generation multi-device TV service for its customers. 4iG deployed NAGRA OpenTV Video Platform to support linear TV, catch-up and nPVR for channels across all 4iG networks, including cable, IPTV, and OTT. The platform enables OneTV to offer services across Live TV, SVOD, TVOD and, in future, gaming, VR and other digital services. One Hungary appointed 3SS to create the UI/UX for the new OneTV service based on 3Ready.
