Double Vision partners with RisingJoy
December 4, 2025
Double Vision, the Malaysian production company, part of the Vision New Media group, led by CEO Min Lim, has entered into a strategic partnership with RisingJoy, the growing microdrama and digital entertainment business co-founded by Cassandra Yang and Ricky Ow.
The new arrangement allows Double Vision to explore the rapidly expanding microdrama market with an expert and uniquely positioned partner. RisingJoy is a pioneer in microdrama distribution and today represents more than 500 hours of the best performing and high-quality microdramas in Chinese, Korean, Japanese and English – working with partners across 20+ different countries throughout Asia, Europe, MENA and South America. RisingJoy will also be launching RJoy, a co-branded app in a highly curated environment, to fuel its growth in microdrama to the next level.
As part of its commitment to the new partnership, Double Vision will also make an investment in RisingJoy, acquiring a minority stake.
RisingJoy’s strategy is to work with leading local players to co-brand microdrama platforms, thus marrying its expertise and proven ability to curate the best content with a local company’s existing reach and systems. This focus of working with top-tier partners has seen it grow rapidly since it was founded in 2021, well on the way to deliver its vision of going from micro to macro. The partnership with Double Vision will now supercharge that growth.
With a heritage of producing some of Malaysia’s and pan-Asia’s leading drama series over the past 40 years – including successful local versions of The Bridge and Liar – Double Vision will move into the production of microdrama formats, becoming RisingJoy’s first official co-creator partner. In addition to content creation, as the market expands internationally, Double Vision’s long-established sister production services business will be able to assist with everything from music clearances and format bibles to localisation services and local productions in key markets – all ensuring that RisingJoy’s microdramas will be delivered seamlessly to a growing audience across the globe.
Min Lim, CEO of Double Vision, says: “I have long admired the work that Cassandra and Ricky have been doing in the microdrama space, building this new stream of the industry with quality content and successfully taking it out into the world. It is therefore truly exciting to invest in and partner with RisingJoy at such a pivotal time. We appreciate that we will undoubtedly learn a great deal about creating microdrama from Cassandra and Ricky in this partnership but Double Vision’s wide-ranging creative and production skills, not to mention the huge raft of production services we can offer as support, will help supercharge this business and push it further on its impressive growth trajectory. With this new investment, plus a raft of major international projects set to start in 2026, the next year will be an exciting one for Double Vision.”
Cassandra Yang, Founder and CEO of RisingJoy added: “Double Vision and its parent company may now be 40 years old, but it has always kept as the forefront of industry developments and believed in the power of partnership. We have known Min and the team for a long time and are delighted that we will now be working together more closely. Microdrama, once seen as a Chinese curio, is now on the cusp of becoming a truly global phenomenon and this new strategic partnership leaves us well placed to capitalise. Double Vision’s financial investment, its experience in drama production and of doing business in the international arena, will play an important part in helping RisingJoy to the next level and meeting our global ambitions.”
