Liberty Global eyes Vodafone’s VodafoneZiggo stake
March 14, 2025

Telco giant Liberty Global has reportedly sent a proposal to Vodafone Group regarding the acquisition of its stake in the Dutch joint venture, fixed-line and mobile operator VodafoneZiggo.
Liberty Global has already held negotiations with Vodafone over the last few weeks, according to a Bloomberg report, with a potential deal worth around €2 billion.
Liberty Global and Vodafone created fixed and mobile operator VodafoneZiggo as a joint venture in 2016 with both companies holding 50 per cent stakes.
If an agreement is reached, Liberty Global could merge VodafoneZiggo with its Belgian cable company Telenet to create a major operator in the Benelux region.
