Spain: Approval for Abertis Hispasat deal

A meeting of Spain’s cabinet has given its approval to the Abertis operation controlling a 89.68 per cent of Hispasat.
The green light comes at a time when Abertis is seeking to sell its shares in the satellite company. In 2017 Abertis paid €302 million to Eutelsat for the stakes, an operation subject to the Government’s approval.
Now. with the go ahead, Abertis, with a 57.05 per cent stake in Hispasat this far, will control 89.68 per cent of the company, with public entity CDTI owning 2.91 per cent and SEPI with 7.41 per cent.
