John Lewis ‘affordable’ UHD TV range

UK retailer John Lewis is set to sell Ultra-HD TVs from £699 (€978) after expanding its partnership with LG. The LG-made JL9100 televisions will be released under the retailer’s branding and come in 40, 49 and 55-inch sizes.
The TVs will come with the WebOS operating system on board, granting access to connected services such as Netflix, YouTube.
John Lewis is also offering a six-month subscription to Netflix at no extra cost for anyone who purchases one of the TVs.
“Sales of Ultra-HD TVs in Britain have so far exceeded previous expectations, and we predict the market will treble in size in the next 12 months,” commented John Kempner, vision buyer at John Lewis.
The JL9100 starts at £699 for the 40-inch set, running up to £1,249 for the 55 inch model.
