BT Vision surpasses 700,000 subs
May 10, 2012
The UK telco has gained from continued strong demand for its fibre broadband service ‘BT Infinity’ and its hybrid DTT/IP television service ‘BT Vision’ – which added 28,000 subscribers in the quarter to reach over 700,000, up 23 per cent on an annual basis.
BT added 136,000 retail broadband connections in the quarter, representing nearly half (44 per cent) of the DSL, LLU and fibre broadband market net additions across the UK as a whole. Net additions for BT Infinity were 131,000 in the quarter, and its customer base currently stands at over 550,000.
BT also celebrated a milestone for its fibre broadband project, having now passed 10 million homes and business with its roll-out, months ahead of its end-2012 target.
