One of Russia’s pay-TV broadcasters, Orion Express, has struck an agreement with TV manufacturing giants Samsung and LG to pre-install Orion’s ‘Telekarta’ pay-TV service on their new sets.
The sets will be pre-equipped with DVB-S22 satellite TV tuners.
Telekarta offers some 200 TV channels. Orion Express claimed at the end of 2015 to have 2.8 million subscribers to its Telekarta service.
Orion also feeds its channels into some 350 cable operators. Orion Express has a 7 per cent market share according to a recent report from iKS Consulting.
