wedotv expands footprint in Italy with Sky Italia
October 2, 2025

wedotv, the ad-supported streaming TV network, has expanded its footprint in Italy for two of its FAST channels – wedotv movies Italia and wedotv Big Stories – with distribution on the Sky Italia satellite platform.
Sky Italia, which services all of Italy as well as the independent states of San Marino and Vatican City, will include wedotv movies Italia and wedotv BIG movies on its satellite line-up using wedotv’s Hotbird Satellite distribution (Eutelsat Hotbird 13° uplink, transponder 117). Both channels utilise wedotv’s HbbTV Addressable TV Solution for dynamic ad insertion for the local market and are available to consumers now.
“Italy was the first European market outside of our initial footprint in the DACH region and the UK where we launched our AVoD and FAST channels and we did so by fully localizing the services. That was two years ago and we’ve added many local platforms since then,” commented Philipp Rotermund. “Expanding our footprint with distribution on the Sky Italia satellite platform, is a tremendous step forward in the market, making our channels even more accessible to viewers. Now both wedotv movies Italia and wedotv BIG stories are available to over a third of all households in Italy.”
In addition to Sky Italia, both wedotv movies and wedotv BIG stories are available via tivusat Samsung TV Plus, LG Channels, Vidaa (Hisense) and Tiscali.
