A Chinese company, Telecast Technology, which makes analogue and digital TV reception systems, is looking to set up a manufacturing plant in Pakistan.
Over the past few days Telecast has met with Pakistan’s media regulator PEMRA and government officials, and looking for authorisation to build DTH and digital terrestrial set-top boxes for the upcoming licensing process which will see a number of would-be DTH broadcasters.
PEMRA says it has received applications from 16 applicants, and a bidding process will start in November.
