Panasonic’s Thailand operation is linking with broadcaster Thaicom and Kantana Post Production to mount an Ultra-HD short film competition.
The contest is targeting Thai university students and the theme is “Beautiful Thailand”. The task aims to raise the bar for Thai TV and film industries by introducing 4K technology and providing students with an opportunity to gain experience filming in HD while competing for prizes worth a total of over THB 300,000.
The contest includes two rounds. In the first round, 10 teams will be selected as finalists based on their treatment and script submitted under the title ‘Beautiful Thailand’. The finalists will be able to borrow equipment to film their production in 4K.
Finalists will also be given a technical workshop on 4K-UHD equipment and production techniques by professionals and post-production specialists.
The parameters are that films must be 7-10 minutes in length and without dialogue. Applications have to be in by January 12th.
