Discovery eyes Prima?
November 29, 2013
Reports in the Romanian press claim Discovery Communications is considering an offer for free-to-air broadcaster Prima TV.
The Romanian channel group is said to be looking for a buyer, and Discovery is among those interested in buying it from current owner SBS Broadcasting.
Discovery has bought up several channels in Europe in the recent years, including a 20 per cent stake in French pay-TV firm Televista and investing €170 million to buy into TF1 channels. Last week, Discovery indicated it was planning to speed up plans to take a controlling stake in Eurosport.
