China Mobile Multimedia Broadcasting (CMMB), a domestic multimedia and mobile TV standard, has started commercial operation according to a joint announcement from China Mobile and China Satellite Mobile Broadcasting Corporation.

China Mobile targets 5 million CMMB users and plans to offer a promotional package priced at RMB 6 per month with a free one-month trial. CMMB mobile TV is being offered in 27 provinces and cities.
