ESPN delivers second most-watched WNBA game ever

ESPN reports that it delivered its second most-watched regular-season WNBA game ever as the Indiana Fever-Minnesota Lynx matchup averaged 2.5 million viewers across the US on ABC on August 2nd.
The matchup was also ESPN’s third most-viewed WNBA game on record, including both regular-season and playoff games. The audience was up 77 per cent on 2025’s ABC regular season average.
Leading into the matchup, WNBA Countdown presented by Google Pixel averaged 818,000 viewers on ABC, an increase of 20 per cent year-over-year.
Through 19 games, the WNBA on ESPN networks is averaging 1.2 million viewers, up 5 per cent from the 2025 WNBA regular season average on ESPN networks.
