Big Brother returns to Finland

August 3, 2026

Banijay Entertainment’s Big Brother format will begin its long-awaited new era in Finland this autumn, produced by Banijay Finland, part of media and entertainment group, Banijay Entertainment.

Tatu Ferchen, CEO of Banijay Finland, commented: “Big Brother‘s popularity around the world is at an all-time high. The format has returned to its roots and original premise, exploring what happens when strangers get to know one another and live together without any connection to the outside world. Big Brother reflects the times we live in, revealing who we are, how we live, and the issues and the conversations that matter most to us right now. That is what makes it feel so relevant today.”

A group of strangers takes the leap of a lifetime into the unknown as they move into the Big Brother house. Memorable moments await, including joy and surprises, challenges and setbacks, tests of personal limits, and new friendships. The extraordinary living conditions, combined with weekly tasks that demand creativity and dedication, reveal how people come together and form bonds at a time when an ever-growing share of everyday interactions takes place via screens.

Iina Eloranta, MTV’s Director of Content and Channels, added: “Big Brother is a multi-platform pop culture phenomenon and a unique union of streaming and linear channels, offering an exceptional viewing experience. Its global success demonstrates how the format is still relevant and compelling as ever, making this the perfect time for Big Brother Finland to return home to MTV.”

Daily highlight shows, 24/7 livestreams, and weekly live eviction broadcasts will immerse viewers in the events unfolding inside the house.
