WBD acquires Kill Jackie for HBO Max in Europe

Warner Bros Discovery has acquired Kill Jackie for HBO Max in Spain, Portugal, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Iceland, France and Belgium. The series will debut later this year.
Kill Jackie is an eight-part revenge thriller starring and executive produced by Oscar, BAFTA and Tony Award-winning actress Catherine Zeta-Jones (Chicago, Wednesday) as Jackie Price. Based on the acclaimed novel The Price You Pay by Nick Harkaway, writing as Aidan Truhen, and from the creative team behind Killing Eve and Gangs of London, the series is a tightrope walk between comedy, drama and downright insanity.
Jackie has been living a wealthy, luxurious existence for the last twenty years – travelling the world, selling fine art using sophisticated tax loopholes and, above all, trying to stay anonymous after escaping a dangerous past as an international drug smuggler. But just as life starts to feel a little boring, it takes a sudden lethal turn when she discovers The Seven Demons, a squad of the world’s most terrifying hitmen, have been hired to kill her. Assuming someone from her past is behind it, Jackie unleashes her old instincts and embarks on a wild, dangerous game plan: to take down The Demons one by one before they kill her. However, she soon realises her own demons are much more terrifying than the ruthless killers on her trail…and her buried secrets ultimately lead her much closer to home, with surprising consequences.

Kill Jackie is co-produced by Fremantle and Steel Springs Pictures, in partnership with Deabru Kalea Filmeak. The series is co-created by Conor Keane, Tom Butterworth, Peter Lawson and Damon Thomas. Butterworth serves as writer and showrunner, Damon Thomas is lead director, and Conor Keane co-wrote the TV adaptation and serves as associate producer. Executive producers are Peter Lawson and Jose Agustin Valdes for Steel Springs Pictures, Butterworth, Thomas, Zeta-Jones, Rebecca Dundon, Dante Di Loreto and Jeffrey Levine, with Nick Harkaway serving as executive consultant. José Luis Escolar’s Deabru Kalea Filmeak supervised production in Bizkaia.
In the UK, the series will air on Prime Video.
