Germany: Seven. One Media brings Pause Ads format to live TV

July 28, 2026

Seven. One Media, the sales house of German broadcaster ProSiebenSat.1, is expanding its Pause Ads function to linear TV. Advertisers can now also book the break ad as a bundle of Joyn Video On Demand and live TV and benefit from additional reach. The family dairy Ehrmann is the first advertising form to be used for the launch of its new product Milk Twist.

The Pause Creative Fullscreen Package in now available on connected TVs, combining Pause Ads on its streaming platform Joyn with HbbTV-based addressable TV placements.

On Joyn, the streaming advertisement appears in full screen as soon as users actively press for pause – exclusively and outside the classic advertising block. The offer is now extended by a SwitchIn full screen position in live TV (HbbTV) on CTV devices: When switching to a ProSiebenSat.1 transmitter, the same advertising message is displayed in full screen for ten seconds – also outside the classic advertising block, in an exclusive position and with the live TV with sound continuing to scale. Together, both forms of advertising form the new break Creative Fullscreen Package – a premium product based on active user action and offering brands maximum visibility.

Markus Messerer, Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer Seven. One Media, commented: “The break Ad has established itself as an attention-grabbing form in the shortest possible time and we see a huge demand from the advertising market. This shows that our customers have recognized the strength of the format: full attention outside the classic ad block. With the expansion into the Addressable TV, we continue this approach consistently, bring it to live TV for the first time and develop the product into a cross-channel offer with additional reach. At the same time, we preserve the exclusive character of the advertising form.”

The Ehrmann campaign is aimed at young adults and runs until August 23rd on Joyn and in parallel on CTV devices on live TV.

Benedikt Köck, Marketing Director Ehrmann, added: “We want to reach young adults where their attention is greatest. The new bundle from Seven. One Media offers ideal conditions for this: It combines the strengths of streaming and linear television in the CTV environment and combines high attention with additional reach. The combination of exclusive placement, full-screen staging and cross-channel playout makes the offer particularly attractive for us.”

The campaign will be implemented together with the media agency Mediaplus International.
