Sky agrees ITV acquisition terms

June 25, 2026

After months of rumours, Sky – the Comcast-owned pay-TV group – has reportedly agreed on terms to acquire ITV’s broadcast and streaming unit.

The £1.6 billion (€1.8bn) deal is said to have “moved in a positive direction” in recent days and was now being finalised by lawyers, according to a Reuters report.

The total transaction value will include ITV Studios acquiring Sky’s Love Productions, which makes The Great British Bake Off and The Piano, and could be valued between £80 million and £120 million based on comparable deals.

There has been no official comment from ITV or Sky, but a deal is expected to be announced imminently.

Talk of a potential acquisition deal first emerged last year and, in November, ITV confirmed that it was indeed in discussions with Sky over a potential sale of its Media & Entertainment division.
