Worldwide Pants, NBCUniversal partner with Merzigo for David Letterman show digital expansion

Worldwide Pants, the production company founded by David Letterman and owner of The Late Show with David Letterman library, and NBCUniversal Global TV Distribution, which owns the Late Night with David Letterman library, have partnered with Merzigo, the global media technology company powering the next era of premium content distribution and monetisation, to optimize both catalogues for digital platforms worldwide.
The multi-year collaboration will leverage Merzigo’s proprietary technology to bring more than 6,000 episodes of The Late Show and Late Night with David Letterman, spanning between 1982 and 2015, to new and existing audiences across platforms like YouTube and Facebook. Utilizing its technological expertise, Merzigo will enhance archival footage for today’s viewing experience, while working alongside Worldwide Pants to expand global digital distribution.
Late Night with David Letterman aired on NBC from 1982-1993, followed by The Late Show with David Letterman on CBS from 1993-2015. The legendary franchise features interviews with iconic guests from across politics, film, music and comedy, and The Late Show with David Letterman earned 17 Primetime Emmy nominations, winning six.

Merzigo’s technology platform allows for the creation of compilations, collages, and stitched content, alongside optimising discoverability through enhanced visuals, dubbing into multiple languages, and refining search and filtering options, thumbnails, and metadata. With more than 6,000 managed channels in over 30 languages and more than 17 billion monthly views, this approach is designed to maximise content reach and engagement across a diverse, global audience.
The agreement with Worldwide Pants builds on Merzigo’s growing roster of partnerships with premium IP owners in the US, including Hearst Media Production Group and Steve Harvey Global.
