Rubicon rounds up The Posse with New Metric Media

Rubicon TV and New Metric Media have announced a new international comedy series The Posse, commissioned by CBC (Canada) and NRK (Norway). The eight-part, 30-minute series, is slated to premiere in 2027.
Created and written by the team behind Netflix Viking-comedy hit Norsemen, Jon Iver Helgaker and Jonas Torgersen, The Posse is an absurdist, character-driven comedy set in the 1800s. It follows a privileged and oblivious Norwegian heir who ventures to the American Wild West in search of inspiration for his novel, dragging a reluctant group of companions along with him.
What begins as a misguided creative journey quickly spirals into chaos. After accidentally landing themselves in serious trouble, the posse finds themselves on the run from the law. Forced to rely on a charismatic but untrustworthy Canadian guide, they must fight their way across the wilderness toward Vancouver, and what they hope will be a way back home to safety.

For Rubicon TV, Ivar Køhn is Executive Producer, and Gudny Hummelvoll serves as Producer. For New Metric Media, Mark Montefiore is Executive Producer, alongside Producers Lana Maclin and Max Wolfond. Sarah Babineau and Kent Alterman will executive produce through Good Walk Entertainment. New Metric Media is handling worldwide distribution for The Posse, with Rubicon representing the series in Scandinavian territories.
Oslo-based Rubicon TV is behind a range of original comedy and drama for the local and international market. The company’s credits include Still Breathing, NRK’s most watched launched ever; the first Netflix original Lilyhammer, and more recently, Billionaire’s Island, as well as other creative international hits Beforeigners (HBO) and The Countrymen (NRK).
