Hallmark Media appoints Sichel as Head of Distribution and Business Affairs

Hallmark Media has announced the appointment of Jon Sichel as head of distribution and business affairs. In his expanded role, Sichel will now lead global distribution efforts and oversee content agreements across all distribution platforms for Hallmark Media, while continuing to lead business and legal affairs for Hallmark Media and Crayola Studios. He will report to Darren Abbott, President of Hallmark Media and Chief Brand Officer of Hallmark.
“Jon brings tremendous cross-platform and industry expertise that will accelerate how we bring Hallmark Media’s content to audiences everywhere,” said Abbott. “His background spanning business affairs and content distribution, and his deep understanding of the Hallmark brand and our unique market position makes Jon’s leadership a true asset as we push our business forward.”
Sichel joined Hallmark Media in 2021 as executive vice president, general counsel and head of business affairs, where he oversaw business affairs and legal activities for Hallmark Media and its associated businesses. Prior to that, he held leadership roles driving content acquisition, distribution sales, and strategy for some of the industry’s most recognised brands, including AMC, Discovery, Scripps, and Travel Channel. He also currently serves on the Board of Directors for the T. Howard Foundation.
