Finite Films & TV appoints McGrath to Scripted Development Executive

Finite Films & TV has announced the appointment of Benjamin McGrath as Scripted Development Executive, to support its growing slate of scripted content.

McGrath brings over 20 years of experience as a Drama Executive to his new role at Finite Films & TV. Before joining Finite, he was Head of Drama for Three River Fiction, where he developed and Executive Produced the Colin Bateman penned thriller Dead and Buried for BBC1 Northern Ireland and Virgin Media Television, in association with All3Media International. Ben also identified the IP that led to the commission of Deon Meyer’s Trackers and Executive Story Produced the series for HBO, ZDF and M-net. He’s credited with co-creating genealogical crime thriller Reyna with Torfinnur Jákupsson (Trom), a premium British-Nordic co-production with Jákupsson’s Faroese company GRÓ Studios that was shortlisted at Content London in 2025.

McGrath began his scripted career working in-house for Granada Drama and Comedy, for Christine Langan, Saurabh Kakkar and Andy Harries, before joining Laura Mackie and Sally Haynes at ITV Drama Commissioning as development editor. He went on to write the stories on over a thousand episodes of long running ITV series Emmerdale.

Working alongside Finite Films & TV’s Founder and Executive Producer, Amy Gardner, McGrath will oversee and develop its slate of scripted content.

The company’s growing slate of internationally driven TV projects features The Many Lives of Miss K, which is in development with writer and filmmaker Sophia Al-Maria, and The Sound, which the company is developing with award-winning filmmaker Ole Bornedal. Both projects are in partnership with Shoni Productions.

Finite Films & TV’s feature film slate includes thriller MIM, written and to be directed by SXSW Grand Jury Award & Australian Directors Guild Award-winner Josephine MacKerras. Its scripted features include the upcoming feature Ben & Lucy, starring Steven Cree and directed by Cora Bissett. Finite Films & TV will coproduce the first English-language feature film from director Anu Menon, Two of Us, with Bright Pictures.

Amy Gardner is the Founder of Finite Films & TV. Gardner produced the feature film La Bohème,  written and directed by Olivier Award-winner Robin Norton-Hale. The film has been shortlisted for an Economic & Social Impact Award at the 2026 Global Production Awards. Gardner served as executive producer on Grant Gee’s Everybody Digs Bill Evans, which world premiered at Berlinale 2026 and was awarded the Silver Bear for Best Director. Gardner served as EP on Joy Gharoro- Akpjotor’s Dreamers, Nadia Falls’ debut feature Brides and Joshua Oppenheimer’s The End. She has produced a range of acclaimed feature films, including And Then Come the Nightjars (nominated for a 2025 Global Production Award), My House and Honeytrap. Gardner also exec produced short films Snipped by Alexander Saul and the BIFA- nominated A Sisyphean Task.
