Ruben Fleischer confirms a fourth Now You See Me movie is in the works
May 19, 2026
Ruben Fleischer, director of Now You See Me 3, has confirmed that there is a fourth movie in the works.
The latest instalment, Now You See Me: Now You Don’t, is twist after twist, with the biggest moment in the movie not being an illusion at all. The death of Thaddeus, who is shot by police working for Veronika Vanderberg, packs a punch but perfectly sets up for a fourth movie.
The Allure of Heists in the ‘Now You See Me’ Movie Series
The third movie centres around the Four Horsemen, who are set up to steal a protected diamond, known as the Heart Diamond, from Veronika Vanderberg. Diamonds have been a long-standing topic for movies, with titles like Blood Diamond, Diamonds are Forever and Snatch all using diamonds as a key theme.
Diamonds are also a prominent theme in other verticals, including The Rapaport Diamond Podcast, which covers the global diamond trade. Interestingly, if you look at some of the top online bingo games, you’ll notice that diamonds are a key theme. Bingo rooms like Diamond Room and Crystal Room feature sparkling diamonds and gemstones to symbolise wealth, and the chance of winning a jackpot that can stretch to over £10,000.
As diamonds are such a big theme and have a strong connection to wealth, it makes perfect sense for the movie to focus on this as a core theme, and with the movie culminating in Morgan Freeman’s on-screen character’s death, it’s very easy to see how the stakes could be made higher with the next instalment.
Director Ruben Fleischer has confirmed that Thaddeus is well and truly gone, but they did toy with the idea of having it be an illusion. As Veronika has now built such a rapport with fans as being a sinister character, it would not be surprising to see her return for the fourth movie.
The Director is Working Hard on a Fourth Movie
Although work on Now You See Me 4 is still in the very early stages, Fleischer has confirmed that they are writing a very adventurous storyline, and that it will almost certainly continue with the theme of the Four Horsemen travelling across the world, carrying out heists while putting on performances.
We do know that Ruffalo’s Dylan is going to have a much bigger part in the next movie as well. However, part of this comes down to Mark Ruffalo’s schedule, which is still being worked out. He is concerned about how tied up he’s going to be, as at one point he wasn’t even going to be in the third movie, as he wasn’t available. The film, however, underwent some re-shoots in the summer, and this meant that the director was able to add Ruffalo into the movie via hologram.
Hopefully, Fleischer can secure Ruffalo for the fourth movie, and given that they are still in the early stages, it’s entirely possible he will make an appearance.
