TVC completes Sky Q rollout for 30 EFL venues
May 12, 2026
TVC Technology Solutions has completed a large-scale AV integration project for the English Football League (EFL), delivering a coordinated rollout of Sky Q systems across 30 clubs in partnership with Uniguest.
The project was commissioned in response to changes in TV broadcast regulations, alongside a broader shift within the EFL toward maximising matchday and non-matchday revenue. By enabling clubs to showcase live football throughout concourses, bars and hospitality spaces in an easier manner, the new AV infrastructure seeks to support a more engaging fan journey. In practical terms, this encourages supporters and hospitality guests to arrive earlier, remain on-site longer and make greater use of food, drink and premium facilities, to directly contribute to increasing per-head spend.
At the core of each installation is a Sky Q distribution architecture, configured to deliver HD content reliably across multiple screens and zones. Systems were designed to support simultaneous viewing across a range of areas, from large concourse display networks to more contained hospitality suites and executive boxes.
Signal distribution and control formed a critical part of the solution. TVC implemented structured AV-over-IP and matrix-based distribution systems where appropriate, ensuring content could be routed efficiently across each venue without signal degradation. Centralised or localised control interfaces were introduced depending on site requirements, allowing staff to switch between live broadcasts, highlights and promotional content with minimal training.
The rollout included upgrades to display infrastructure to maximise visibility and impact. In certain instances where clubs requested specific AV add-ons, high-brightness commercial displays were deployed in concourse and bar areas to maintain image clarity in challenging lighting conditions, while more discreet screen installations were used within hospitality environments to balance viewing quality with aesthetic considerations.
In hospitality suites and executive boxes, the approach focused on localised control and premium tailored viewing. Dedicated Sky Q receivers were paired with intuitive control systems, allowing guests or staff to select content independently, whether live sport, replay highlights or alternative channels.
Elliot Shepherd, Technical Sales & Projects Coordinator at TVC Technology Solutions, commented: “The EFL project was a complex undertaking to create seamless Sky-Q based AV infrastructure across 30 sites, while keeping EFL matches disruption free. The result is a great example of how AV infrastructure is evolving within the sports venue and wider hospitality environment to become an integral part of the revenue driving model. It’s no longer just about having screens in place; it’s about how effectively content can be distributed to support both the fan experience and the commercial objectives of the venue.”
