Community Fibre doubles the speed of Essentials social tariff
April 14, 2026
For a limited time, Community Fibre, has doubled the speed of its Essentials social tariff for new customers, from 35 Mbps to 70 Mbps for the same price of £12.50/month.
Until 11:59 May 6th, households can sign up for the 12-month full fibre package to access the offer, benefitting from no mid-contract price increases or set up fees.
The affordable package known as a social tariff, ensures a high-quality, reliable connection that will help households tackle everyday online tasks, stay in touch with loved ones and manage finances.
Community Fibre has launched this special promotional offer following findings from Ofcom that more than half of low-income households are unaware of the deals that could help them save money. The regulator also found that just 5 per cent of the 4.3 million eligible households have signed up to a social tariff or discounted package.
Unlike most other providers, Community Fibre does not ask for proof of income support or government benefits to access the tariff – making it one of the most accessible available.
At £12.50/month it is also one of the cheapest and is available to residents in London and the Southeast on its network footprint.
Across the capital, Community Fibre also works in partnership with the Department for Work and Pensions to provide free access to 100 per cent full fibre broadband for those struggling to get online. The initiative, in collaboration with Jobcentre Plus, offers 12 months of free broadband at speeds of 50 Mbps to those eligible for the service.
