MPTS 2026 has unveiled the first wave of its seminar programme, with more than 130 speakers confirmed ahead of its return to The Grand Hall, Olympia London on May 13th-14th. As the event marks its tenth anniversary, this year’s programme reflects the continued convergence of broadcast, production and digital media.

Spanning eight theatres and conferences, the programme will examine the technologies and workflows shaping the future of television. The Broadcast Technology Theatre will focus on the infrastructure underpinning modern broadcast, with sessions exploring cloud-native production, IP-based workflows, live delivery and the increasing complexity of multi-platform distribution.

Artificial intelligence is set to be a major theme across the programme. The returning AI Media Zone will explore how AI is being integrated across the content lifecycle, from production and post to distribution, with a focus on real-world applications and operational impact.

The SMPTE Media Technology Conference Europe will also return with an enhanced programme and move onto the showfloor for 2026, bringing technical discussions closer to the wider MPTS audience. Topics will include hybrid production models, next-generation broadcast systems and evolving approaches to content delivery.

Alongside this, the Post Production Theatre will explore developments in editing, VFX and collaborative workflows, while the Production Theatre will address wider industry challenges, including sustainability, skills and changing production models. Speakers confirmed in the first wave include contributors from organisations such as the BBC, ITV, Sky, Warner Bros, Banijay and ITV Studios, highlighting the continued alignment between broadcasters, producers and technology providers.

With further sessions to be announced, MPTS 2026 will provide a platform for industry professionals to explore the challenges and opportunities shaping the future of television and media.
