Kane appointed Senior Commissioning Executive at Film4

Film4, the feature film division of Channel 4, has announced the appointment of Cate Kane as Senior Commissioning Executive. Kane will join the creative team in January 2026 and report to Farhana Bhula, Director of Film4, alongside Senior Commissioning Executive David Kimbangi.
Kane joins Film4 from MUBI where she was most recently co-Head of Global Acquisitions since 2020, acquiring titles across an international footprint including Aftersun, The Substance, My Father’s Shadow and The Worst Person in the World. Prior to this, she was Head of Acquisitions at Curzon Film for nine years, leading on films including Parasite, 45 Years and Force Majeure. She has also worked at BBC Film, Casarotto Ramsay and Content Film.
At Film4, Kane will play a key role in shaping Film4’s slate, partnering with filmmakers to shepherd projects from early development through to production.
