De Chavagnac steps down as CEO of Asacha Media Group
July 2, 2025
Asacha Media Group has announced that following its acquisition by Fremantle (in March 2024), and the subsequent successful integration of the Asacha portfolio of award-winning labels into Fremantle, Gaspard de Chavagnac, co-founder of Asacha, has stepped down as CEO to focus on new media investment projects. He will remain a shareholder of Mintee Productions which he founded in 2017.
Asacha is made up of eight distinct and individually successful labels across scripted, unscripted and feature films including Kabo Family, Mintee and Srab Films in France; Picomedia and Stand By Me in Italy; and Arrow Media, Red Planet Pictures, and Wag in the United Kingdom.
Founded in 2020, Asacha Media Group rapidly established itself as a major force in the European audiovisual and film production industry. Thanks to rapid growth, a premium positioning in scripted content and an ambitious development strategy, the group brought together eight leading production companies in France, Italy and the UK, establishing itself as the third largest independent player in the European market.
This dynamic made Asacha a key acquisition for Fremantle, in a rapidly consolidating market, particularly for the quality of its labels, the strength of its portfolio of intellectual property, and its economic performance which exceeds industry standards.
Beyond his qualities as an executive, de Chavagnac also played a pivotal role as a producer, by initiating partnership with first class talents and developing new and ambitious original creations with strong international reach. He notably worked alongside Floriane Cortes at Mintee Productions to produce the show Cimetière Indien for Canal+ and Paolo for HBO.
De Chavagnac, said: “I am very proud that, in just four years, my partners and I have built the third largest independent player in the European film and audiovisual production market. The development of Asacha Media Group has been a tremendous human, creative and industrial adventure, and an immense entrepreneurial success. I’m delighted that the careers of all Asacha Media Group’s associate producers will continue within Fremantle, one of the world’s leading content creation and distribution groups, which shares all the values we initiated. I wish all my associates and the Fremantle teams every success.”
Andrea Scrosati, Group Chief Operating Officer, CEO Continental Europe, Fremantle said: “I would like to personally thank Gaspard for his visionary leadership and the pivotal role he has played in both creating Asacha Media Group and successfully leading its integration into the wider Fremantle business. We wish him continued success in his next chapter. The individual Asacha businesses (Kabo Family, Mintee, Srab Films; Picomedia, Stand By Me; Arrow Media, Red Planet Pictures, Wag) across France, Italy and UK have all complemented our wider portfolio of labels, while maintaining full editorial independence, and the results being delivered by their talented teams perfectly underline the numerous benefits of Fremantle’s global reach and expertise.”
