Most episodes are recorded live in front of a movie-loving Screen Players Film Club audience at The Cinema in Selfridges. Each episode offers a front-row seat delving into in-depth, revealing, candid conversations with the creative forces behind the film — be it the writer, director, actor or producer — tracing the journey from initial idea, to on-screen realisation. Guests offer fresh insights into their artistic process, sharing untold stories from behind the scenes and reflecting on the inspirations that sparked their work. From genre-defining blockbusters and acclaimed documentaries, to boundary-pushing indies and emotionally charged dramas, Screen Players Film Club pulls back the curtain into the craft, challenges and triumphs of the modern filmmaking process behind some of cinema’s most celebrated stories.

Screen Players Film Club is a PODSSS production, created by The Script Factory in partnership with Soho Square Studios and Olympic Studios. This is the second podcast series produced by PODSSS.

The first two episodes of Screen Players Film Club are available now and new episodes will be released weekly.

Bogard Macleod commented: “Screen Players Film Club started as a film-geek’s impulse to share great movies, and invite those who created them to explore the stories of bringing them to the big screen What side-swiped me was that initial chats about the movie making process swiftly moved onto something more profound, as guests opened up to stories behind making these films. Now it really feels like a club, for both film lovers and lovers of life, as we eavesdrop on moments like Sam Taylor-Johnson’s startling revelation of maternal abandonment, Simon Beaufoy’s admission of Oscar night anxieties, and Nick Broomfield’s confession of the enduring influence of his first love.”

Dalton Deverell, PODSSS Producer and Studio Manager, Soho Square Studios: “PODSSS was created by Soho Square Studios to give a voice to unheard Podcast talent and guide them through the process of releasing their first podcast. We’re thrilled to have produced Screen Players Film Club, and are excited to share these episodes with an audience.”

Lisa Burdge, co-Founder and co-Owner, Olympic Studios, added: “What a joy it is to support Charlotte and the Screen Players Film Club. Partnering with someone as passionate about film as we are truly feels like a match made in filmmakers’ heaven.  We’re delighted to host the wealth of insight and insider knowledge that Charlotte so skilfully draws from the filmmaking royalty she brings to the stage.  We’re lucky to have her – and we can’t wait for more.”
