June 19, 2025

Monaco and Finland-based film and TV production company Pig & Horse Productions has launched with a slate of documentaries and unscripted formats.

Founder Salla Kozma have unveiled the first documentary from the company. Reflections of Gaugin, which is already in production. Pig & Horse Productions is working in partnership with media veteran and former Fremantle Finland Head of Development, Anssi Rimpelä, on the investigative art mystery feature as well as other upcoming projects.

Alongside her role at Pig & Horse, Kozma (pictured) has built a multi-faceted career across many sectors in the industry. She is also an actress and founder and Chair of Board of Post Theatre Collective in Finland.

Rimpelä’s collaboration with Pig & Horse will see him bring over 20 years of experience producing formats to the company’s formats slate. Rimpelä played an important role in localising 27 globally recognised formats for the Finnish market, including Pop Idol, Got Talent, X Factor and Best Singers. He is the CEO of Finnish creative studio, Up to Level Media, which he founded in 2017.

Pig & Horse will unveil additional slate developments and original formats in the coming months.

Kozma commented: “We are thrilled to introduce Pig & Horse Productions, our international studio based in Finland and Monaco, built around a passion for bold stories for audiences everywhere.  We prioritise creative collaboration and the perfect example of this is our work with Anssi to showcase a range of unique unscripted formats and documentaries, including the trailblazing feature doc Reflections of Gaugin. Our slate will focus on stories from around the world, told through fresh and unique perspectives. Expect more from Pig & Horse very soon!”

Rimpelä added: “It’s a really exciting time to be working with Salla and Pig & Horse. The international unscripted landscape is in a moment of reinvention, and Pig & Horse is uniquely positioned to meet that demand with bold, meaningful storytelling rooted in European creativity, designed for global audiences. This side of the industry is also catching up with the co-production and co-development model that scripted has favoured for a long time so I’m looking forward to developing a slate that brings both edge and heart to the international market.”
