Arts Alliance launches co-production initiative

May 15, 2025

Arts Alliance, the parent company of Garden Studios, has announced the launch of a new co-production initiative aimed at supporting high-quality independent feature films. The programme will provide eligible productions with a combination of equity investment and a cashflow facility, available to films shooting at Garden Studios‘ state-of-the-art facilities in central London. Targeting feature films with budgets in the £5–10 million range, the initiative is designed to help complete financing packages and attract top-tier filmmakers to the unique capabilities offered by Garden Studios.

“We work very hard to be accessible to independent film makers, challenging them to embrace technology and to get more artistically out of budgets by delivering projects faster to create value for all.”  Says Thomas Hoegh Founder and CEO of Arts Alliance and Garden Studios. “Personally, and through our companies, we are passionate about cinema and supporting production.”

This announcement comes as the UK’s revised AVEC tax incentive, implemented on 1 April, begins to draw more independent productions (under £15 million) to the country. Garden Studios is uniquely positioned to support this growing demand, offering the flexibility independent projects require—unlike long-term-lease-bound major studios.

Located in the heart of London, Garden Studios is the only central London sound stage equipped with a permanent virtual production stage. The facility has seen increasing interest from dramas utilising cutting-edge virtual production techniques to enhance efficiency and creative freedom, particularly for car shoots and other complex scenarios. The campus also boasts 8 sound stages, 8 warehouses and an influx of offices and parking.

With this new initiative, Arts Alliance and Garden Studios are reaffirming their commitment to supporting the next generation of independent film, providing filmmakers with both the financial tools and technical innovation needed to thrive in the evolving UK production landscape.
