Crunchyroll hires Huin as Head of Product Security
January 9, 2025
Crunchyroll, the global anime specialist, has announced the appointment of Steeve Huin as Head of Product Security.
As an industry veteran, Huin brings decades of expertise in media and entertainment security, having spent most of his career at Irdeto protecting pay-TV operators, OTT platforms and gaming studios. He aided the transformation of the broadcast pay-TV industry from hardware-based security solutions (smart cards) to software-based alternatives, delivering the world’s first one-way cardless solution. Most recently, Huin led Denuvo, Irdeto’s gaming business, combating game piracy and online cheating for some of the world’s biggest gaming titles.
Huin’s appointment signals Crunchyroll’s growing ambitions in an increasingly competitive entertainment landscape. Anime, once considered niche, now has undeniable global potential, evidenced by continued year-over-year global growth, a rapidly expanding library of content and related games on the Crunchyroll platform, and larger platforms like Netflix wanting to participate.
